Who are we? We are a family of three living in Los Angeles. We are in our early 30’s and have one child who is 2 years old.
Josh (Dad)
Lilly (Mom)
Victoria (Baby)
According to the weight charts and BMI we are not over weight and actually are in the “normal” range. Over the past 3 years we have not worked out and have let the extra pounds creep up on us.
Why are we doing this? This blog will be a motivation tool for us as we take on the task of getting back into shape. We call this site the American Diet Revolution because we see this as a life style change and not a diet. Diets simply do not work. This has been proven time and time again. There have been so many fad diets over the years it would be impossible to count them.
Why South Beach Plan?
Because it seemed to fit in line with our general thinking on being healthy:
1. Cut out sugars
2. Keep food portions in control
3. Cut back on refined carbohydrates
4. Drink plenty of water
5. Keep Alcohol consumption limited
6. Exercise
7. Allow yourself to have “cheats” in moderation of course
Besides the amount of sugar and refined carbs Americans eat, portion size has gotten completely out of control. Serving sizes have ballooned and so has our collective waist
lines.
What ever the out come of our life style change we hope people can find useful information in our journey and can use it to find a more fit and healthy life style.
